ABOUT TUSON
Founded in 1987, Tuson is a family owned and operated American company that manufactures and supplies precision-machined components, assemblies, and systems primarily made from metals. Typical of these are steel, ductile iron, aluminum, and copper. Tuson supplies its products to a variety of OEMs in several industries. Those business segments include fluid power, electric motors and linear actuators, mobile hydraulic equipment and machinery, industrial (stationary) machinery and equipment, recreational vehicles (RVs), and many others.
Since inception, we have grown from a one-man operation into a global company with over 330,000 sq. ft. (> 30,650 sq. m.) of operating floor space that is home to more than 400 employees. Our facilities in China, Taiwan, Japan, and the USA utilize state-of-the-art technology and equipment. We possess over 360 manufacturing machines to fulfill the needs of our customers. We offer a variety of services including machining, grinding, finishing, polishing, inspection, assembly, and test. Our goal is to provide products that are always ready “out of the box” when they arrive at your dock. We work with our customers to help them design products that are both cost-effective and high-quality. One of the tools we use is DFMA (Design for Manufacturability and Assembly).
From our headquarters and inventory facility in Vernon Hills, Illinois, USA (near Chicago), and Tuson Manufacturing Company in Story City, Iowa, USA (near Des Moines), we offer manufacturing, testing and assembly services, stocking, and sales, service, and support. If long lead times are an issue for you, we can provide individually-tailored customer inventory management programs. Whether your company prefers VMI, EDI, Kanban, blanket orders, or other material management methods, we have experience with all of them. And, our track record includes 99%+ on-time delivery after initial production ramp-up.

1987
Tuson is established in Sacramento, California, USA.
1990
Tuson/Taiwan is established in Hsinchu, Taiwan (ROC). Tuson/Taiwan is originally created to handle all chiller repair and sales, and to be a procurement center for business partners on the Pacific Rim.
1990
Tuson relocates to Northbrook, Illinois, USA (near Chicago). This strategic move is made to position Tuson closer to its customer base. It also provides improved logistics.
1996
Due to significant growth, Tuson relocates to its current headquarters facility in Vernon Hills, Illinois, USA (also near Chicago). The new facility provided substantially more office and warehouse space.
2002
Tuson/Dongguan is established in Dongguan, China, near Shenzhen. It is the first manufacturing facility operated by Tuson. It focuses on custom and customer-designed fluid power valves and components.
2006
Tuson/Suzhou is established near Shanghai, China. It is created for additional capacity, and for proximity to key suppliers. The facility focuses mainly on the machining of castings and parts for electric motors.
2006
Tuson expands its Vernon Hills facility due to continued business growth. The expansion provides additional office space, as well as more room for conversions, light manufacturing, and testing purposes.
2010
Tuson RV Brakes, LLC is established within the Vernon Hills facility. This RV Brake Operation was created for entry into the RV industry. Since then, it has grown to become a major part of the company.
2015
Tuson/Jiaxing is established in Jiaxing, China (near Shanghai). The facility is established in order to better serve the customers based in the Shanghai Area. Tuson/Suzhou is closed, and its manufacturing is moved into the larger, more capable Jiaxing facility.
2017
Tuson celebrates its 30th anniversary worldwide.
2021
Fueled by on-going business growth, Tuson completes a major expansion of its Jiaxing plant. Tuson also breaks ground for a major new facility in Hsinchu, Taiwan (ROC), to be completed and occupied in 2022.
2022
Tuson acquires 100% of the assets of ISPT, LLC of Story City, Iowa, USA. The new division is renamed Tuson Manufacturing Company (TMC). Established in 1979, TMC is a manufacturer of precision-machined components, and assemblies and systems made from such components. TMC has a 100,000 sq. ft. (9,300 m2) climate-controlled facility containing over 125 pieces of manufacturing equipment and machinery. The acquisition provides Tuson with complete manufacturing capabilities in North America.
