Custom Machined Engine End Cap Assembly for the Transportation Industry
Tuson was selected by an Illinois transportation customer to construct the engine end cap assembly displayed here. Manufacture of this product, which is used as part of a commercial bus door, required creative application of our capabilities made possible by our extensive expertise.
Fabrication of this 4.0" by 4.5" by 4.0" part required extensive use of a CNC-based lathe and machining centers. We used drilling and assembly processes as well for manufacturing. Materials consisted of 380 forged aluminum and 1018 steel with an added clear anodized finish. Tolerances on the part were held at ±0.001". We evaluated all units using pneumatic pressure testing, and ensured that all manufacturing steps were as cost effective as possible.
